新茶

The season of new green tea has come in Mt. ASHITAKA of Numazu, Shizuoka.

Rich aroma scent is the characteristic of green tea in Mt. ASHITAKA.

This year, they are nominated and delivered to the Emperor.

May 1st of this year is Hachijuhachiya (88th night), the 88th days counting from the first day of Spring.

The day is believed good for praying for the productiveness of grain and also for the first harvest of tea.

New green tea leaves harvested now are the best of the season.

愛鷹山のお茶は香りが高いのが特徴、今年は天皇陛下に献上されます。

5月1日が八十八夜、立春から数えて八十八日目。

五穀豊穣を願う縁起の良い日とされ、気候条件も良く今の新茶は極上です。

いつもコンピューターのまえで仕事をしているcolour のグラフィックデザイナーもお茶摘みに忙しい毎日です。
